This
is a biography of John Malone and the rise of the modern cable business.
Firstly when I was looking for a biography book in main library, I found this
book. I decided to read this book
because I never heard about John Malone before and I want to know more about
him.
The
story or the plot presented in this book is beginning from the introduction
about John Malone. He told about his family and his effort when he works for TV
cable because many people that pro and contra with his idea to make a TV cable.
There are some people that said he is a great unsung hero but reviled by
others.
Actually
I don’t have some personal experiences that related to this book, but I think
the author of this book is organized this book well and make the reader comfort
to read it. The author is the writer of Wall Street Journal and ever met with
Malone 23 times in his office.
What
I like best about this book because the author of this book bring us to the
real life situation when Malone built the cable TV industry. Besides, the font
of this book is not too small and the paper also clear. The author also put
some picture about John Malone and that make me know the face of John Malone
and it makes me interest in reading this book.
What
I like least from this book because too many unimportant characters that
appears and make me confuse. In this book also there are several words about
technology that I don’t really understand.
The
larger issues that raised by the story is about John Malone life and his idea
of the cable industry developed over the years. This book also me information
gives about how the industry dealt with growth, changes in technology,
competition, content suppliers, etc.
I think all
the businessman and all who wanted to be a businessman should read this book. This
book told about Malone effort when he built TV cable in America. By reading this
book we will get a new spirit to do something in our life.
I would
recommend this book to one of my friends in class. Because we can take some
lesson from this biography. Although our department is education, it is not
limited us to know about everything included business such as from this book.
On a scale of 1-10, the difficulty of this
book for me is around 5. Because the book is organized well, the paper is
clear, and the font is not too small. Beside, the sentences that presented in
this book quite easy to understand by me.
