When I looked at the cover, it’s not really interested. But the title that make me so curious with the novel. What kind of trust that would tell in this novel and what mystery that would be solved. Then I try to continue read this novel to know what curiosity is.
The
main characters of this novel are, Jason Englefield (a rich man who has a
daughter and he was an arrogant and uncompromising artist), Eleanor Linnae
(Jason’s ex-wife who wanted her step daughter), Clover Englefield (Jason’s
daughter who wanted a freedom) and the last is Charles Bevan (a lawyer, a man
who helped Eleanor to get her step daughter).
The
character I dislike in this novel is Jason Englefield because He is an
obstinate person. Although Eleanor had asked his permission to meet with his
daughter, he never allowed her. Until when Eleanor got an illness, Jason
allowed Clover to meet with her for the last time.
When
Eleanor met with Clover is the best moment in this novel. The moment is really
touched, because actually Clover also wanted to meet with her step mother but
her father never allowed her. Finally when Eleanor was going to died, Clover
come to meet her and Eleanor passed away in Clover’s lap.
The
moral value that I got from this novel is don’t be an obstinate person such as
Jason in this novel because if you be an obstinate person, you will get nothing
in your live. It told in this novel when Jason tried to avoid Clover from her
step mother. He never allowed Clover to meet with her mother but finally Clover
meet with her. And when Eleanor has got her freedom in her eighteen birthday,
he decided to leave her father.
