When I read the
epilogue and a coment of the novel, actually I
excatly interesting with the story. The story is looked like about a woman
effort to get her dream. Finally I choose this novel and continue reading.
The
main characters of this novel are Lucky Santangelo (Lennie’s
wife, a beautiful woman who never compromised and always took chance) and Lennie Golden (Lucky’s husband, an actor and be a movie star
when he was thirty seven). In this novel also
there are some characters, like Abe Panther (the owner of panther
studio), Gino Santangelo (Lucky’s father), Abigaile and
Primrose (Abe’s daughters), Mickey Stolli
(Abigaile’s husband. The head of panther studio), Ben Harrison (Primerose’s
husband).
The most interesting part of the story
is when Lucky disguise to be a secretary in Phanter studio to get some
information about the studio. She pretended to be Luce, she wear a wig and
glasses and she also wear an old dress. I think it really strain, because
sometime there is somebody knows about her disguising.
The very confuse part
when I read this novel is when Lucky decided to choose the studio and left her husband. Actually
her first purpose to get the studio is because Lennie always complaint about
her job to be an actor in Panther studio and Lucky wanted to help her husband.
But when Lennie knew about it, he angry with Lucky and asked her to left the
studio. Finally Lucky decided to left her husband and get the studio.
The part of the story
that I dislike most is
when Lucky refused to
have baby whereas Lennie want to have baby. Lucky decided to get the studio
rather than have a baby and stayed at home to be a good wife. I think as a wife
she should follow her husband’s order, because she is a woman and she have to
be an excellent wife.
Actually, I have no personal experiences that
related to this story. But I think maybe in bussiness
world, they can do anything to get their goal. And they also sometimes forget
about their first purpose when they decided to take the chance.
Actually I like with the end of this
story. Because finally they life happily together. Lucky get the studio, Lennie
is not complain again about his job, and the most happy part is when finally
Lucky get pregnant. Lennie’s dream to have a baby is realized and Lucky’s dream
to get the studio is also realized.
The larger issues that
raised by the story is about Lucky’s effort to get the studio. Many people doesn’t like her when
she get the studio include Mickey Stolli the head of Panther studio and Abe’s
son in law. Because he thought that actually he is the person who have to get
the studio because he is Abe’s daughter’s husband. But Abe didn’t want to give
it to him because he know that Mickey can’t manage the studio. Then Abe asked
Lucky to look for the information about the studio and sold the studio to her.
My experience while I read this novel is
I always fall asleep after I read a few pages. Then when I wake up, I confuse what
page that have been read. So I repeat it that make me take a long time when I
read this novel.
