This is my last novel. Actually I read this novel because
I don’t have novel anymore for my assignment. So, when I send a massage to one
of my friends, she told me that she has an available novel. When she give me
this novel, I read some pages of this novel and I think the languge that used
in this novel is quite easy and then I continue read this novel.
The main characters of this novel
are Catherine
Alexander (a woman who lost her memory about her past and has been cured in a
convent) and Constantin Demiris (known as Costa, a whealthy man and a mentor in
a convent). In this novel
also there are some characters, like Larry Douglas
(Catherine’s husband), Noelle Page (Larry’s mistress), Napoleon Chotas (Costa’s
rival), Spyros Lambrou (the brother of Costa’s wife) Doctor Alan Hamilton (psychiatrist,
a man who loved Catherine and she love him and finally become her husband) and Melina
(Costa’s wife).
The most interesting part of the
story for me is when Catherine tried to safe herself from
someone who wanted to kill her, Atanas. She has been kidnapped in the basement
of some building. Atanas put a huge boiler in that basement and told her that
if the dial reacherd four hundred degrees, the boiler will blow up. Than Atanas
go away and leave catherine alone. Catherine never give up. She saw a bottle
around her and try to take it. Whan the dial is almost four hundred degree, she
can cut her rope in her hand and hide in the back of a heavy door untill she
heard a tremendous explosion. I like this part because it teach me that we have
to fight for ourselves untill the end of our life.
The very confuse part when I read
this novel is when Chotas
decided to help Costa although Costa ever wanted to kill him by putting a bomb
in his house. Costa has been jailed because an assertion of his wife death. But
Chotas helped him to persuade Spyros to make testimony that actually Costa
didn’t kill his wife. What make me confuse is this novel didn’t tell me the
reason why Chatos wanted tto help him.
The part of the story that I dislike
most is when Costa sent Atanas to pretend to be an
office boy and killed Catherine. Firstly, he very kind to Catherine, he helped
her from her death and he also give her a job in London in his vactory. I
dislike this part because Costa is hypocritical person. And I hate it.
I don’t have some personal experience that related
to this story. Because in my life, I never heard about a murderer around me and
I hope it will never heppen. But what can I get from this story is we have to
be carefull to someone that we never know before. Such as in this story when
Catherine believe with Atanas because his innocent face, but actually Atanas
has a plan to killed her.
I like the end of this story. Finally Costa died after free from the
jail because there is some problem with his car and he got an accident while he
went to Chatos’s house. And I think that the good payback of his behaviour
while he was life in this world.
The larger issues that raised by the
story is about the revenge of Costa to Larry. He not
only killed Larry, but also he killed a people around him and who have a
relation with him and with Catherine.
My experience while I read this
novel is I was very spirit to read this novel.
Besides, this is my last novel and the story of this novel also very
interesting for me. The paper of this novel is clear and the font of this novel
is not too small that make me comfort to read this novel.
