Firstly
when I looked at the cover, it’s really a good cover. There is some shadow in
the darkness between trees. And it is make me so curious with the novel. What
the meaning of the shadow is. So, I read the epilogue of the novel. Obviously,
this novel told about Gipsy’s Acre the cursed place. I wanted to know this
story and I decided to continue read this novel.
The
main characters of this novel are Michael Rogers (the fortunate man who was
married with a richest woman) and Fanella Guteman called Ellie (the richest
woman who bought the land at Gipsy’s Acre and be Simon’s wife). But in this novel also there are some
characters, like Greta (Ellie’s best friend) Mrs. Lee (the frighten woman who
lived near Gipsy’s Acre), Cora (Ellie’s step mother), Claudia Hardcastle).
In
this novel I like Greta, Ellie’s best friend because she always helps Ellie
when she was got an accident. Greta also helped Ellie to manage her factory. It
is told in this novel when Ellie has an accident that sprains her ankle. Greta
stays in Ellie’s house to take care of her until Ellie’s cured.
The
moment I like in this novel is when the first Simon met with Ellie in the
Gipsy’s Acre. When Simon was travelling in the Gipsy’s Acre and Ellie also was
travelling there, they met each other and introduce themselves and they fall in
love in the first sight. Then they decided to meet again in the other place.
When they meet again, suddenly Simon asked Ellie to be his wife, and Ellie
accepted it. So, they imagine having a house in the gipsy’s Acre. And it is
really touched and romantic.
From
this novel I have learned that we don’t exactly believe with someone even
though he is kind. Like in this novel when Ellie was killed, no one knows that
who killed Ellie is Simon, her husband. Because Simon wanted Ellie’s wealth.
